mikke is a lost and found app then lets you easily search for lost items as well as post photographs of any found items. Using in-app messaging, you can send thanks to the finder of your missing item, as well as confirm that any found item has happily reached its rightful home.
One of the most interesting points I encountered when designing an app for the first time was the realization that UI design is essentially designing the user’s actions. In order to design a better experience for the user, you need to understand the user’s thoughts and behavior as a base for the visual design. This process is both difficult and fun.
A do-it-yourself Karuta builder app for parents who want to create a customized deck of Karuta, a traditional Japanese matching card game. Snap photos of all your child’s favorite things to make the learning experience more exciting (and more relevant).
I designed the app so that is could also be used by children, keeping it simple and easy-to-understand. Using Prott, I was able to compare and brush up designs to reiteratively test out concepts and get feedback from my friends quickly.
ShoeFit is an app for women who struggle in finding the perfect fit of shoe. With just a few photos of your feet, the generated 3D data will help you find recommendations which can be viewed along with your simulated feet.
Thanks to the speed and intuitive nature of Prott, I really felt I was able to more deeply understand UI design. At first I was fumbling around, but soon I really came to understand the meaning and creating the interface became enjoyable while experiencing both the interesting and difficult points of UI design.
Transform your photographs into music! With brightness as pitch and hue as the musical scale, this app composes an original soundtrack to your photographs from the photographs themselves. Use Photo music before you go to bed or whenever you want to relax and enjoy your photographs both visually and audibly.
Through the process of designing this app, I was able to once again feel the significance of reiteration and testing. Prott enables you to immediately test how things will move so that you can make and remake things over and over until it’s the flow you want. In addition, I was able to get the opinion of working designers who have a slightly different viewpoint than my teachers which made the class a fresh and valuable experience for me.
Ever wonder where you should hang up your child’s latest masterpiece? No more space on the fridge? With this app, parents can easily take a picture of their child’s art to save for later viewing.
Until now, I’ve looked at UI design as a user but I’ve never realized the depth of UI design until I tried to design my own app. I was able to work quickly with Prott, but I actually wasn’t able to fully grasp the concept of what I was making. The teachers and designers from Goodpatch stepped in to give me their advice until I was able to create something I could completely grasp. I really feel that I’ve grown as a designer.
High connects with your Apple Watch to measure your heartbeats to catch the moment when your heart is beating the fastest. Along with recording your heart rate at that moment, the app will automatically launch your iPhone’s camera so that you can capture and share your “high”.
Apps have become necessary to our everyday existence, so it was really interesting to for me to try designing one from scratch. While designing, I was able to learn about the more intricate details and depth of UI design while improving my own concept through trial and error.
Summer Break Observation Journal is an app form of the pen and paper observation journals used by children. With a single app, parents can ensure their children’s summer holiday homework is all accounted for without the usual last minute scramble when school begins again in autumn. Have a great summer break!
Prott was simple and intuitive to use for composing the UI which made the design process easier. Because you can quickly change your screen designs, you can keep brushing up and improving your concept. Thanks to this class, I’ve become very interested in UI design and and I want to learn more. Thank you.

As a regular iPhone user, I often see the screens of apps but I was surprised to find that there was a lot of things I didn’t know when I started designing my own app. It was really interesting to learn through testing and see how certain user actions could be much more difficult for actual users than I imagined. The class was very enjoyable so I would like to continue studying more in-depth about UI design.
